Grappenhall Care Home

Creating a comfortable, controlled environment for care home residents with a reliable, easy-to-manage system.
Project Overview

Houlkair was commissioned to complete a new air conditioning installation at Grappenhall Care Home as part of a commercial project. The work involved installing multiple split systems across the building along with a central controller to manage the system.

The installation included 14 split air conditioning systems and one central controller, providing climate control throughout the property.

Our Process

Challenges

The project was completed over a long period and changed regularly due to updates from the client. These changes meant that some aspects of the installation needed to be adjusted during the process.

One of the main challenges involved changes to pipework routes, which occasionally needed to be altered as the project progressed. In addition, the installation needed to ensure fire regulations were adhered to, particularly where services entered individual rooms.

Solution and Approach

To manage changes to the pipework routes, variations were costed when routes changed significantly. This ensured that any major adjustments to the installation could be handled clearly and efficiently.

The team also ensured that sufficient space was maintained where services entered rooms, allowing the installation to comply with fire regulations.

Equipment

For this project, all equipment was supplied by Houlkair, using Mitsubishi Electric systems.

Additional Notes

As this was a commercial project, formal testimonials are difficult to obtain. However, much of Houlkair’s work comes from repeat business, reflecting the ongoing relationships built with commercial clients.
